At the Golf Club of Georgia on Saturday, the top-ranked Red and Black men's golf team won the N.C.A.A. East Regional to advance to the N.C.A.A. Championship tournament.
By capturing the first N.C.A.A. regional title in school history, the Bulldogs claimed their fifth tournament victory of the season. A win at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club on the first Saturday in June would give No. 1 Georgia the national championship and tie the school record for victories in a season.
The Bulldogs completed the regional round at nine under par to finish 12 strokes ahead of Auburn, Florida, and Georgia Tech.
Also on Saturday, Georgia's No. 1 men's tennis team improved to 30-0 with a 4-0 victory over U.C.L.A. to advance to Monday's semifinal match against Virginia.
