Admittedly, all of us in Bulldog Nation were hoping for a victory significantly less thrilling than Georgia's homecoming win over Troy, but, hey, a game either goes on the left-hand side of the ledger or on the right-hand side of the ledger and this one wound up on the correct side of the dash separating the wins from the losses.
That being the case, it is time once again to update the Mark Richt Victory Watch, in which we here at Dawg Sports continue to count down each of Coach Richt's wins along the way to his eventual and inevitable record-setting 202nd favorable outcome.
The Mark Richt Victory Watch now stands at 68. Coach Richt needs just 133 more victories to tie Vince Dooley as the winningest coach in Georgia football history.
Coach Richt now sports a 68-19 record for his tenure in the Classic City. At the same point in their respective careers on the Sanford Stadium sideline, Harry Mehre (52-31-4), Wally Butts (64-21-2), and Vince Dooley (59-24-4) all trailed Mark Richt in wins and losses.
