The following exchange took place between my wife, Susan, and me at the start of last Saturday's Iron Bowl:
Susan: Are we rooting for Auburn?
Kyle: No.
Susan: Since we beat them, don't we want Auburn to do well, so that it will make us look better?
Kyle: No.
(Pause.)
Susan: Would we want them to do well if it were any other team except Auburn?
Kyle: Yes.
I hate Auburn.
